Sidhi baat with Flipkart's Binny Bansal

Sidhi Baat with Flipkart's Binny Bansal

The story of Flipkart founder Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal is very interesting. Binani Bansal shared such an interesting timeline with the us. He also mentioned the sentence for which Sachin Bansal calls him good and bad even today. Apart from this, Binny decided to sell his IIT in Delhi from the first job in Bengaluru to the establishment of Flipkart, to sell it to Walmart and now on further planning.

 Friendship

In a half-hour conversation, Binny said, "There is a sudden happening in life, which makes life happier." He said, 'Sachin and I knew each other in IIT Delhi. We passed in 2005, but there was no friendship between us. We were 8 to 10 people from our batch. Most of them were from computer science, who were working in different places in Bangalore, but nearby apartments were living. We used to mix all the time. '

Amzon's Boring Job

Actually, Binny Bansal was referred to by Sachin Bansal in Amazon. Sachin had been working there for more than a year. Binny said, 'I did not get enough work in (Amazon). So, I really do get bored. People talk about jobs from 9 am to 5 pm, but for me, there was a job like 12 to 3. Come to the office at 12 o'clock, spend an hour on the internet, go to lunch, finish lunch, play table tennis, and then return home at 3 o'clock. He further said, 'I did this for three months and I started feeling that I did not come here for this work. So I started thinking of doing something better than boring routine and purposeless work. One after another began to come into consideration. We (I and Sachin) talked on different issues and began to think seriously about e-commerce. '

So Sachin had to return the bonus

A few months after joining Binny Bansal, Amazon went out. He said, "I had received a referral bonus from the company after referring to him, but he had to return this bonus to the company." Actually, according to the company's policy, the person who refuses to refinance within one year of joining has to return the bonuses received. Binny Bansal laughs, 'For this, he still calls me bad.'

Ignorance

He said that his ignorance proved to be a boon for him because he did not know anything about the business. Binny said, "If we knew what to do for business, then it was the easiest side coding for e-commerce for us. We were from the Tech Sector, so it was very difficult for us to do operations, to go to the vendors, to coax them to deal with us. '

Why did Flipkart be sold?

When he was asked how to buy Flipkart and how he did not sell the company in the stock market instead of selling it to Wal-Mart, he said, "There were many external reasons for selling the company. All things are not under your control. The way the Capital Markets work, the competition is, as the market is going to become, I think the process of raising the capital should continue as you have to face the competition at every step. This is an external factor. It is easy to say that it (Flipkart) could be listed. However, we had to choose a better option for the company. We thought selling at Wal-Mart was the best way to raise at least the capital. '

what next?

Asked about the next plan, Bansal said that it is too early to say something. He said, 'I am just in search of mood. I have spent a lot of time with my family. I have two children (two twin boys of two years). One that we would like to do one or two big things is to help one entrepreneur. Therefore, we have to make some investment in it. But, now I am spending my holidays. "
