Xiaomi has updated some of its Redmi and Mi phones to the latest MIUI 10 and Android Pie of late. The newest addition to the Redmi Note 3. The three-year-old Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 has started receiving MIUI 10.2 update in India, some users of the Redmi phone have reported. It should be noted that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is getting the latest MIUI 10.2 update, but that’s not based on Android 9 Pie software. The Redmi Note 3 currently runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and not the Android Pie. Notably, as Xiaomi confirmed last month that Redmi Note 3 would be getting its final software update in January, This means that the Redmi Note 3 running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based on MIUI 10.2 will not get any future updates. Xiaomi ended the future software updates for some of its other Redmi and Mi phones as well last month.
Last month Xiaomi’s MIUI Official Forum noted, “We have confirmed with MIUI Global ROM developer team that there will be no Global Beta update for Mi 5 & Redmi Note 3 Pro, except for the last stable ROM that comes in the near future. And Beta Team for Mi 5 and Redmi Note 3 Pro will be disbanded after its release.”
Redmi Note 3 Gets Last MIUI Update
The Redmi Note 3 currently runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which is pretty old but the phone now comes with the latest MIUI skin – MIUI 10.2. The new update rolling out to the Redmi Note 3 comes together with the Android security patch for July 2018 which definitely brings some bug fixes and also improvements to the overall user experience of the phone.
The MIUI 10.2 software rollout has been confirmed by the users themselves on the Mi Community forums. According to the screenshots shared by the users in the Mi Community forums, the MIUI 10.2 software update for the Redmi Note 3 measures 178MB in download size. The screenshots further reveal that the software update comes with the build MIUI V10.2.1.0MHOMIXM and carries Android Security patch for the month of July 2018.
The official changelog of the MIUI 10.2 for the Redmi Note 3 that been posted by the users in the Mi Community reveals that the software update brings several bug fixes to a lot of problems like — floating notifications, fingerprint sensor, earphone icon, scrolling screenshots, among others. The software update also comes with a fix for UI elements of the front and rear camera while on a video call on the phone. With the same update Xiaomi has also fixed the recorder and now it shows updated recording status in the notification shade when a recording is paused.
To check whether you have got the new MIUI update on your Redmi Note 3 or not you need to head to the Settings menu, followed by About phone option and then head to the System update option.
