To stop Fake News, YouTube has a waistline, a new feature that will soon bring

Since the Internet, data has been cheap and since the expansion of the social media platform, there has been an increase in cases of fakes news being viral in India. Presenting any news wrongly and making it viral on social media has become quite common nowadays. Understanding the severity of the damage to society from Fake News, many social media websites and applications are constantly engaged in trying to stop it. In this episode, YouTube is now testing a new feature called 'Fact Check' to stop Fake News and will release it soon.

YouTube is making this feature, especially for India. The pop-up notification will appear on the YouTube video after the launch of this feature. If there is a video on YouTube that YouTube considers misconstrued to its policy, then it will give the user a pop-up notification to check the video associated with the video as it plays. Along with this, YouTube will also highlight additional information related to that video with the help of its Fact-Checking Partners.

According to a report by Social Media Today, these pop-up notifications will come to the search result page instead of one of the videos. Even after this, the videos with false information may appear in YouTube's search results, but YouTube will give a disclaimer to its users here, informing them that he is doing everything possible to prevent misinformation on his platform.

India is one of the largest markets of YouTube due to millions of users and cheap internet data plans. That's why YouTube is testing this new feature for both English and Hindi languages.

A YouTube spokesman told Buzz Feed, "We're constantly trying to give a better news experience on YouTube, and for this, we're also expanding the information panel, which will make a fact check from qualified publishers for YouTube".

In India, YouTube is thinking about getting information from these half dozen verified fact-checking services for these panels. Most of these fact-finding companies are working with Facebook to stop Fake News before the general elections in India. YouTube will roll out this feature to other countries of the world after India. Although no official information has been provided by YouTube on how long it will be done.
